The Pixoxo class aids with the transition between Bentivi and Sabia. In this class, children continue to develop basic capoeira moves and floreos, or pretty acrobatic moves. In addition, they start to learn training terminology and techniques such as “warm-up,” “stretching” and “partner training.” The class is an hour long, and more rigorous than the Bentivi class. To aid with the continuity of capoeira practice, Pixoxos start the class with the Sabia class, and then join their younger peers in the Bentivi class for Music and a Roda. This gives them the encouragement and challenge they need to move forward while reminding them of the responsibility to support younger students of the art.
